    Today's Earworm

I have absolutely no idea why. I haven't had that synth line in my head since I was 9 years old.

She's gone today but for two days it's been Lily Allen's new one Air Balloon. Now I don't mind Lily in the normal course of events, but I fear this one will prove terribly tiresome.

          Today's Earworm

All this morning I have been shouting, to myself, 'Oooh Ahh, dubi dubi dubi' from 'I Don't want to live with Monkeys' by the Higsons.

I have no idea why, I have not heard it in months.

I said, I ain't gonna live with you.

            Today's Earworm

My friend Chris was once out driving and forgot his 3-year-old daughter was sitting quietly in the back. Didn't think about his choice of music until a quiet voice announced solemnly from behind him, "Fuck tha police."
Never too young to learn that sentiment, though.

              "But there's no danger, it's a pro-fesh-on-ull career"

It's a proper earworm - just that line, over and over.

If you Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next by Manic Street Preachers has been in there the best part of a week.

There are worse songs, but like Mumpo's below it's mostly a particular line:

"Holes in your head today, but I'm a pacifist"

                    Star by Kiki Dee.

Just the chorus on repeat - I can't even remember the tune for the verses.

Those Guys - Tonite. Over 11 minutes of Deep House Baltimorean perfection.

Incidentally, if anyone knows where the spoken intro to this record was sampled from you would be solving a 23 year old question for me. Sounds like it's from a film, but the doo-woppy bit might have it's own story.

A proper one-line earworm today - the screeched 'aaaaahhh you're gonna miss me!" from the chorus of this.

                              Again, I've had much worse:

                                Excellent sub-conscious selection.

I'm stuck with Langhorne Slim & The Law — The Way We Move. It has more hooks than a gooseberry bush but has been totally suborned by Microsoft, which makes me feel kind of itchy.

I've got the theme from fucking Knight Rider thanks to Confused.com.

Following the Adam Ant gig this week, my friend had the chorus from Whip in my Valise ("Who taught you to torture, WHO TAUGHT YER?!!") running though her head whilst presenting at a corporate global conference.

I always hear the "London is full of Arabs" bit when I'm in Edgware Road. Got "Hong Kong is up for grabs" in HK a few weeks ago. So it's often in my mind.

For some bizarre reason, I've had Zager and Evans swirling around my head all day. I must be worried about the future.

However, a couple of hours ago I made the mistake of looking up this.

                                                Oh dear!

Generational probably but what struck me after a couple of listenings is that the entire thing seems to be built around the first couple of bars of Mustang Sally.
