    Interesting Photographs & Videos

This is a thread idea that's obviously never been done before.

Here are Dino Zoff, Franco Causio, former Italian president Sandro Pertini and Enzo Bearzot playing cards on the plane on the way home from the 1982 World Cup.

I've always loved that photo -it's as if they're playing for the trophy itself.

Dino Zoff turned 70 today, btw. I knew he was knocking on a bit, but I still had to do a double take when I read his age.

Meanwhile, I came across this photo recently. Ron Greenwood famously couldn't choose between Shilts and Clemence as his No.1 goalkeeper, but they evidently didn't let it come between them.

That photo with Peter Marinello reminds me of the opening credits of The Professionals, where Bodie, Doyle and Cowley walk towards the camera.

Meanwhile, who's the biggest star in this picture?

Really interesting set of grassroots football photos here by Sergey Novikov, "about the places and people beside the longest European river, the Volga. I looked at them through the prism of soccer that is a common passion here in Russia and particularly in those tiny towns on the Volga. I travelled along the river and visited the games of 9 teams who named after the river. So they are all FC Volga from different Russian regions."

I've always loved this photo, not least because Uli Borowka (pointing and hissing) is about a foot shorter than Karsten Bäron (shitting himself):
