One of the great voices of soul and R&B died today in Riverside, California. Weirdly, the man who "discovered" her and produced some of her early work, Johnny Otis, passed away just before her, on the seventeenth.

She had such a great voice. Best known for "At Last," but a few favorite songs that come to my mind:

"In the Basement" (with Sugar Pie DeSanto)
"Tell Mama"
"I'd Rather Go Blind"
"All I Could Do Was Cry"
