Graham Dilley
Sad and sudden news. Didn't know he was ill.
A decent bowler, who'll inevitably be largely remembered for Headingley 81. And thanks to The Horse for posting up this catch on Twitter.

Oh. Really?
Thats a little sad. He was up the other end in '81 and I will always remember his run up...
Bugger. He will be missed, and he will always be remembered, even if only by this post.
(He had 10 to 2 feet, if I recall... and he would pound the ground on the run-up... and already, the batters were shit scared.)

A real shock, in fact this thread is the first news I have had of this. I once picked up his run up marker at Hove after a day watching Sussex Kent in the early 80s.
I still ape his very distinctive delivery style sometimes when bowling at the wall.
Very sad indeed. RIP

I watched the 1986 Ashes series on ESPN this morning over breakfast. Graham Dilley took five wickets in the first innings of the first test in Brisbane. That set the tone for a fantastic Ashes-winning performance from a set of cricketers were given no chance by the home media.
News of his passing is very sad indeed.
