    Bert Jansch

Sad to read via Twitter that Bert Jansch has died at age of 67.
Thanks to the brilliant Folk Britannia series, I started getting into British folk, including Jansch and saw him a few years back playing a small club show in central London. Regrettably I'd been drinking for most of the afternoon so can't recall too much of the evening. Brilliant guitarist and terribly influential man. RIP.

    echoed.

edit: Is this confirmed? Can't find any news on the net.

      Been confirmed on 6Music.

Looking at his official site, he cancelled a date a few weeks ago due to illness. Death perhaps related to that, whatever it was.

          Aww shit, shit shit!

He was such a huge part of my late teens. We'd go see him at Les Cousins almost every couple of weeks. Occasionally share a cigarette outside. Davy Graham died a couple of years back, but he was more legend than mortal to us. Jansch is the first of that crowd — Renbourn, Al Stewart, Roy Harper, Paul Simon — to check out. Fuck, some days it's a bugger getting old

I know I'll play Running from Home a lot this morning.

What Amor said. A rare talent and a nice bloke. RIP.

Not a good week for legendary guitar pickers, what with Marv Tarplin and all....
