    ... liked a drag, too.

I like it when guitarists do this:

When I say "like", I mean "find mildly amusing because it looks silly".

Watching people attempting it during air-guitar contests is even better.

I was joking about the filter.

I presume that, much like actors can't really light up as part of a theatre performance now, musicians aren't legally allowed to smoke on stage in countries where it is banned indoors.

I'm trying to think of the last act I saw have a cheeky drag during a gig and I think it was Cypress Hill but a) tobacco smoking would be the last of their legal problems and b) it was an outdoor festival.

It used to be pretty much compulsory in jazz gigs, but yeah, it is banned now, and I seem to recall someone getting in trouble for lighting a cigarette here a couple of years ago.

                          Can't they? I've seen it.

Yes, it happens here. I think they have to post warnings in the programme or something.

I seem to remember some furore about an actor (for some reason Mel Smith's name comes to mind) playing Churchill being told he couldn't smoke a cigar.

Edit:here it is. Though I remember it seeming like it might be a typical Edinburgh publicity stunt for the play.

I went to see Motorhead at a half-empty Wembley Arena when they had pre-legislation banned smoking and drinking in the venue part. Lemmy walked in fag and pint of JD and coke in hand. I mean, no smoking and drinking for Motorhead.

sorry, but someone had to do it:

And, the person concerned, above, isnt. Just rather gay.

Possibly worth putting that photo in context. I seem to remember some people getting upset by its use on other websites when attached to the same news.
