    The darts on proper TV

The BDO does do some good stuff in that it provides a pathway for players to develop. Pub -> Superleague -> County -> BDO tournaments. Problem is that most decent players then see the PDC as the next and final step. Maybe the loss of the last terrestrial TV contract might bring the BDO and PDC back together.
you'd suspect if the BDO doesn't get a new TV deal with BT then it's all over for them and they might have to go cap in hand to Barry Hearn and ask for the £2million he offered a couple of years ago to take them over.

you're right about the great job the BDO does at player development but at the highest level it has only gone backwards since the split. in an ideal world the 2 governing bodies would merge with the PDC overseeing professional darts and the BDO looking after the amateur/development level, that basically already happens but it'd be nice if they made it official.

The BDO were being very bullish about the TV deal and their independence in, er, The Independent last week.

The first Champions League of Darts will be broadcast live across the BBC in what is being billed as an "exciting new era" for the sport.

The decision to broadcast the new event means the BBC will cease to cover the BDO World Championship.

Hopefully ITV4 will pick up the BDO.

Is anyone watching the PDC "Champions League" event from Cardiff? Their first tournament on the BBC (who picked up the BDO now the Beeb have dropped it) and first in Wales, I believe.

Anderson is destroying a predictably flaky Wade right now.

            .
