Man kills wife with hose while trying to solve her constipation
The incident occurred in the Çayırova district of Kocaeli, when a man tried to treat his wife’s long-running constipation problem by putting a garden hose in his wife’s anus and running water through the hose.
The woman was subsequently rushed to the nearby Gebze State Hospital.
However, she succumbed to her injuries as doctors said her intestines had exploded due to the pressure from the water.

Not exactly WTF, it being the Guardian and all, but I did chuckle at the top sub-editing in this (otherwise most unchuckleworthy) article:
The potentially fatal condition is triggered by overstimulation by hormones of the follicles of the ovaries. Symptoms include back pain, bloating and nausea. In extreme cases, OHSS can cause the ovaries to expand to more than 12cm (4.7 metres), about five times their usual size.

Home alone in a small town in northern Ohio, authorities said, an 8-year-old boy loaded a .22-caliber rifle and opened fire on his younger sister.
Prosecutors said that the boy called his mother Saturday morning to tell her that his 4-year-old sister had been shot. The mother, who had left the children alone to go to work on a horse farm near their home in Hayesville, returned home to check on the girl, washed her up and then went back to work, prosecutors said.

WTF in a good way. I revel in wonderful stories like this. A German message-in-a-bottle, intended to track ocean currents, is found after 131 years. It was tossed overboard in 1886.

What I found quite funny about that is that they reckon it most likely washed up almost immediately (well, within a few months) on the beach not far, globally speaking, from where it was thrown overboard, and then just sat there being uncovered and covered by the movements of the dunes for 130 years and several months.

Jaysus. The only bit that isn’t hellish is teachers consuming alcohol on a school trip. Was too poor to go to Paris etc, but the teachers all got blootered by all accounts (and let the 16-18 year olds drink beer). But that was a different world I suppose.
