Something is happening at a solar observatory in New Mexico, but nobody is quite sure what. It was evacuated a week ago, and nobody's allowed in.

Now, this being New Mexico, my first thought is that someone is making meth in there for Gus Fring. The other theories seem far fetched, because it's not like a solar observatory is a particularly pertinent location for alien invasions or for Russian hackers.

Quite apart from that story, I'm impressed by the altitude of the observatory. Over 2,800m, or almost 9.200 feet, above sea-level. That must be really noticeable, certainly for anyone arriving there from a more normal altitude.

Edit: Most high alititudes seem impressive to me as an Englishman of course. I noticed the other day that the Cat and Fiddle Inn in the Peak District, whose claim to fame is that it's the second highest pub in England, is at lower altitude (by a small margin) than every single pub in the city of Munich.
