He's got previous for putting both Motherwell FC and his budget airlines into administration. In the case of MFC he did take a reported £9million hit but then again paying Spencer,Goram and eh,Ged Brannan small fortune to try an finish third in the SPL didn't look particularly astute even at the time. The creditors at the time received 27p in the pound and latterly a share of the McFadden sell-on claues money.

Far too many mentions of 'morals' in his little cameo there. He looked like Frankie Howard after a bottle of Bell's and a night spent sleeping rough in Airdire by the end of it. Boyle's screwed over too many employees and creditors in the past to allow any of his businesses to take the moral ground on this matter.

It is. If it were a Football League club, they'd have a transfer embargo.

Can't take a pay cut to go on loan.

Don't worry, there'll be another along in a minute. In the meantime, Motherwell will be sorted at the last minute as is our way.

Obviously, us intelligent principled Cardiff fans think it is ridiculous that we can carry on signing players while we continue to owe other clubs' transfer money.

On the other hand, Craig Bellamy is a Bluebird!!!

Can anyone confirm that Cardiff are only paying £10,000 of his weekly £50,000 wage packet, with the balance being paid by "some member of the public who likes them?" At least according to a QPR board, where this news is as popular as a porn mag in a nunnery. As, I'd guess it is at other Div 2 clubs.

I don't believe that Motherwell expect to see this through, for one reason: legal jurisdiction.

Scottish and English civil law are different, and any decree brought against Cardiff City will have to be transferred to an English (or Welsh) court before it can be enforced. A Scottish court can't authorise bailiffs in England or Wales. It's a little odd, because Motherwell could have instructed solicitors in England to take action on their behalf, and this would have made enforcement of any judgement awarded with much less difficulty.

£50,000? I'd be amazed if it is as low as that. I am assuming Man City are paying everything over the £10,000 or whatever we are paying him.

They really didn't want him going to another EPL club.

It sounds like nonsense. For a start, Bellamy's weekly wage is usually quoted at £90/95,000 a week and I would imagine that Man City are paying a significant majority of that. You didn't have to read too deeply between the lines of Bellamy, Jones and our Chief Exec going out of their way to praise Gerry Cook and another Man City employee for the way they made the deal possible to surmise that the terms are as good as they could possibly be for Cardiff given the overall absurdity of the transfer and of our club at the moment.

My guess? We're paying an absolute maximum of £30,000 a week of his wage and the Malaysians in control of the club must be throwing in some extra cash to do so. It wouldn't surprise me if we are obliged to buy him at a set fee should we be promoted either.

Also , you know obviously not aimed at you personally or anything , but fuck QPR. I'll take no lessons off that circus on how a football club should be run or good housekeeping. The play-off final was seven years ago and they need to get over it.

Fair enough, but as much, or more, of the angst is aimed at Man City rather than yourselves, quite rightly IMHO. Several people have pointed out that we'd have taken exactly the same deal if offered. The issue is mega-wealthy clubs banking players and then keeping them away from their immediate opposition.

Yeah, but this is the clubs supporters talking not the club. Most of us — until recently — have more reason than Cardiff fans to agree with what you say.

I'm not sure what Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Bridge, Glenn Johnson, Ditmar Berbatov or Michael Carrick would have to say about that.

I suppose every club has fans who'd rather nurse grievances than cherish successes. We're no different.

Quick bit of clarity on the legalities of it:

The Scottish money judgement can be enforced in England and Wales, but it's a pain in the arse. The issuing court issues a certificate which is then transferred to the High Court in London, and the court approves the transfer. At that point, a winding up petition could be presented or Motherwell could involve High Court Enforcement Officers (souped up bailiffs, though they're only souped up in terms of the speed with which they work and how much they cost rather than what actual powers they have). There are still opportunities for the defendant to hold things up, though, and the idea of someone turning up at Cardiff to take money on match days seems far fetched, to say the least.

                                WELSH TEAM SIGNS TRUCULENT MIDGET

CRAIG Bellamy has completed his loan move from Man City to Cardiff after tests confirmed him to be the Welshest man on the planet.

Bellamy scored 12 goals for Man CityThe Championship side had agreed to sign the tiny, agressive striker on condition his Welshness had not been diluted by time spent in cosmopolitan English cities like Manchester and Blackburn.

But tests found that Bellamy's blood sample contained an even higher level of Boyoclorians than Cerys Matthews, Charlotte Church and unusually-named BBC reporter Wyre Davies.

Bellamy said: "It's great to be back amongst people who won't blink an eye when I get angry for no reason and blame everybody else for my fictional problems.

"I look forward to getting them in a drunken headlock and stressing how much I love them while punching them in the face over and over again."

The striker will be officially unveiled to fans ahead of Saturday's match against Doncaster with the traditional Crmhylchmych ceremony.

Bellamy will be carried onto the pitch atop the shield of an ancient chieftan before eating a raw daffodil and screaming violent, groundless complaints into the face of an English tourist for eight minutes without repetition or vowels.

Cardiff manager, Dave Jones, said Bellamy would bring some local pride and unprovoked fury back to the team, adding: "vwvbu sffh wh fbfwyfnwd jbgyngf."

I can't work out if this is the FL a) wanting to be seen to doing something without really having to do so b) making up a new rule about vetting transfers in advance just for us.

Don't know, but if you're owing Motherwell for Paul Quinn, and coming to agreements with Sunderland over rescheduling an outstanding payment for Chopra, because you can't afford it, then you shouldn't really be signing any players, to be honest.

I can't argue with you there and as long as the FL is examining every transfer it's member clubs are undertaking to check it is sustainable ( as opposed to picking on one because it's a sexy story and they feel they should respond to unfavourable headlines ) I have no complaint.

Nick Szczepanik of the Independent has just tweeted: "Greg Clarke's stance on Bellamy and Cardiff is consistent with his remarks on financial probity at his 1st meeting with journos as FL boss.."

Of course, if the Quinn deal was with an English club, there'd be a transfer embargo im place, and Clarke wouldn't need to investigate.

Being consistent with a briefing of journalists and being consistent with the FL rules are two different things. I want my club to clear their outstanding debt with any other club as much as anyone but I can't help bridling at the Daily fucking Express deciding what is right or wrong in football.

If Clarke wants to introduce a set of binding rules governing transfers then he should do so in the close season not make policies on the hoof to react to a a tabloid's agenda.
