      When I saw you
I thought that you were the one
Looking good, I assumed you were handy
      You introduced yourself as handy

I thought you were the handy-man
I laid my love in your hands
      Andy my man
I thought you were the handy-man

      Then something went wrong
And the feeling was so gone
Slipped the hammer on your thumb
And the saw got caught in your thong

I thought you were the handy-man
I laid my love in your hands
      Andy my man
I thought you were the handy-man

      The Knife, 'Handy Man'

I don't know about individual songs, but Insane Clown Posse have released two (for fuck's sake two) albums featuring my surname prominently in the title.

Also, there was a cheesy metal band on a label run by Games Workshop that used my surname as their band name.

I can't remember the name of the Duran Duran song but there's one that samples 'Barbarella' so it sounds like some is saying 'Doctor Doran is alive?' Or some such.

            Son House 'John The Revelator'
David Bowie 'John I'm Only Dancing'
Lloyd Cole 'My Bag' (His hymn to cocaine: "Meet me in the john, John. Meet me in the john.")

"Mark" - too many to mention.
"Emsley" - behave, not a chance really is there.

I have a pretty common surname, and I know of at least one song that I own that references "the ghost of William Jennings Bryan". (Robert Earl Keen - Out Here in the Middle)

allmusic says there are loads more, the best of which is of course Jennings' Revenge (on an album called Pile of Skulls by Running Wild), but I like Jennings Goes Down, John Jennings Blues, Here Lies Lenora Jennings, and Jennings Station One as well.

i recently bought Mireille Mathieu's album called that.
not yet actually dropped it on the record deck, but the cover is ace, and easily worthy of £1

My surname kicks in after 1:11 of this... and I think that its the only time John Entwhistle ever sang. 2 points and a custard tart to anyone who can actually work my name out without resorting to Facebook.

There's a suprising number of people who think they're the first to sing 'Hey Joe' at me.

I don't suppose there's many songs with Bannister in them though. Anyone come up with any? She's buying a stairway (with a bannister) to heaven?

Which used to be the Rose and Crown,

TRB did "You've never had a brother like Martin", but I don't think my surname appears in any songs (unless someone like Tchaikovski knocked out a three-minute wonder).

Hmmm, a quick Google search of a common misspelling of my surname threw up (almost literally) this glorious discussion.
