Evening Gero - it was a travesty as always, but good fun: no real stand-outs so far.
Macedonia and Finland can count themselves hard done by in my book, but it wasn't such a crying shame as when Bulgaria's version of The Prodigy got knocked out in the semis a couple of years ago.
That insipid James Blunt git from Belgium is looking ominously like this year's hateful non-song that goes all the way, though.
I saw a bit of this, and millions of men all across europe are wondering what the iceland song will sound like on poppers. It's got the gay rave anthem thing going for it with the comfortably built singers as well, and it has the europop strength to become annoyingly ubiquitous.
And Sarah Beanie needs to go somewhere else. Anywhere as long as it's away from a tv camera.
Beanie or Cawood?
I only saw a brief part of last night's and was on the phone to my sister-in-law for much of that but I liked Poland's entry (this may be down to having a thing for milk maid's outfits and red patent leather).
I clicked your link from the other thread (havent got around to listening to them all yet) and its a million times better than Germany's usual pisstake dross. It has a wee chance I think.
It's miles better than Germany's usual efforts, but it's still got the stinky fingers of Stefan Raab all over it, who's been mainly responsible for the pisstake dross in recent years.
She doesn't remind me so much of Björk as of these singers who've popped up lately that base their vocal stylings on Waynetta Slob. She's got the tone down right, but her ear for an accent makes Dick Van Dyke look like Sherlock Holmes.
It'll all end in tears, anyway. Never underestimate the cloth-earedness of the European public. Then, just like every other year, there'll be much wailing and gnashing of teeth, moaning about the bloody Eastern Europeans all voting for each other and calls to withdraw from the whole thing.
Germany and Britain are much more similar to each other than either would like to admit.

I'm in, but missed the start of it because it's only being shown here on an obscure digital station that I can't get, so I had to look around for a stream.
