    World Cup User Names

I wasn't here for the last big international tournament, well not unless you count the Confederations Cup. What are the 'guidelines' for witty world cup user names?

I'm not the fastest of thinkers so I'm trying to get a head start now.

Has anyone got any good examples from world cups past?

I'll be buggered if I can think of a suitable one for my username.

Renart, it has been somewhat of a tradition on here for users to modify their user names for major tournments. "Brazilianizing" one's name is quite popular for World Cups, and Euro 2008 brought out a number of Heidi-ish monikers.

It's by no means universal, and some of us are too attached to our names (or too creatively challenged) to bother. There have also sometimes been technical issues in the past with users reclaiming their "standard" names post tournament.

Ah, I see. So I could be Renartinho or ReNartus Beasley or something like that.

And in 2004 there was a proliferation of Greek names (Incadellas here).

and sometimes people take one for a tournament, and then just decide to keep with it.

I think it was PPV who started the Brazilian name thing in 2006.

Should there be a South African name theme (and with all our official languages, why not?), then I'll go for G-Mandela, obviously.

                      I'm thinking of Kurt Bafokeng.

"twee honderd persent" in Afrikaans, apparently. I've just read about half an hour on the structure on isizulu, and I'm finding it a bit difficult to grasp, to be honest.

You could be 200% Zuluboy, after the t-shirts in support of Jacob Zuma that styled him 100% Zuluboy.

I shall be Rogin's Drift - which will be very suitable, as I'll probably change my mind about who I'm secretly supporting (alongside England, of course) about every two days

I'm going to adapt the name of Benfica player but I can't decide which one, maybe Maxeeeeeeeee Pereira because I've got a sort of love/hate relationship with him. But probably Angeeeeeeeeel Di Maria would be a cooler player to use. Or I could call myself "Tacaura" which is even cooler, aye, there's so much to prepare...

                                          Admit it.

I think this time around everyone should have North Korean names.

Ha ha, it actually occurred to me, but I thought maybe I haven't been posting here long or regularly enough to try out my apartheid material.
