    Do you mean Denver, Colorado?

    No, Denver, Norfolk.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver,_Norfolk

I've got a "Radio Four 6.30 whimsical quiz" fondness for places like this. Any others?

Montréal en Ardèche. Nice little town. My son, who was six or seven at the time, loved the blacksmiths at the castle.

Baltimore, co. Cork. Lovely, though very touristy, little SW Irish harbour town; Ireland's answer to Tintagel or somewhere. Not a member of the Barksdale crew in sight, you feel me?

Every time we play this game, I mention Pennsylvania. And the fact that every time I pass through there, I say "I hadn't realised that we'd gone so far west". I am a wag.

                          Paris, Texas. Of course.

There are lots of Moscows in the US as well, including in Texas. I'm kind of surprised they didn't change their names during the Cold War.

I thought we were doing little Old World places with the same name as big New World places. There are surely too many the other way round.

New York in Lincolnshire, more Crab apple than Big Apple. So shit they named it once.

Menlo park, the new jersey home town of thomas edison, and confusingly also home to stanford university, and about half of fleetwood mac is just outside galway city on the dublin road.

There's a boston very near the father ted house on the burren. Baltimore in cork, and by extension in maryland is actually named after a townsland on the leitrim/longford border.

This is the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Not quite the same capacity. It's situated on Cockshut Lane. (fnarr)

There are, that's why I took care to select only the two best examples.
