Instagram tags--how do they work?

So above the post/reply box I see the list of text options, and there's the box that has Twitter, strikethrough, spoiler, and the Instagram tags. How does one actually get the Insta tags to work? What part of an Instagram URL is to be pasted in there in order for it to embed in a post?

Take this URL, say: https://www.instagram.com/p/CbW9FyCpwag/

Posting the entire thing in between the insta tags didn't work, so I wondered if it was just the CbW9FyCpwag, but that didn't work either. The pop-up box just says "wrap tags around selected text"--I'm not sure what selected text I need to select!
