    Occasional 403 errors when trying to reply to threads

    It's happening to me at the moment in the Covid-19 pandemic thread. I type stuff and press 'Post' and it tells me there's a 403 error. Refresh, forced refresh and cutting the text, exiting the thread, going back in and pasting it back in before posting have all worked in the past, but not today. Indeed, it won't even let me paste any text into the box – gives me a 403 then as well.

    I'll download the logs and have a look to see if I can find anything.

      Many thanks, Snake Plissken. I've had this too in the crossword thread, from three different devices, several times today.

        ...I've managed to post on there now, which makes me think it was something to do with the symbols I was using to set out the parsing of a clue. Do the inequality signs have some special meaning if you're writing code?

          Shouldn't do. You mean either != or <> ?

            The message went through once I'd eliminated:

            the @ reference to the addressee;

            an 'arrow' indicator, viz. ->

            inequalities to show the parsing, viz. ESC + A<RPM>ENT

              I had a 403 problem trying to post with an @ name today. Took the @ name out and it posted fine.
