Vancouver Olympics...WTF?

Because:

a) Canada has a much more significant Scottish heritage than it does a Jewish one (first two PMs were Scots), so it was a more apropos reference;

b) the stereotypes about Jews have to do with usury and the acquisition of money more than miserliness;

c) there is no history of blood libel with the Scots so a joke about a stereotype seemed less likely to stir emotions than one about Jews. Or so I thought.

My experience is that people of Scottish decent often make that joke about themselves. Jewish people don't do that very often. And with Scottish people it's not meant in the same mean or vile way.
