    A funny thing happened on the way to the forum...

    What's the easiest way to get back to the forum after I've posted in a thread ?

    Do I have to quickly click on the 'back to the forum' link before my time runs out and I'm automatically taken to the bottom of the thread ?

    Or is there another way to quickly get there, from the thread, but without having to scroll back up to the top (this is what I'm currently doing and I find it tedious).

    Why don't you open a new window or tab for every thread you wish to read. That way you'll stay in the forum with your "masterpage".

        Excellent!

        Just the opportunity to ask: when placing an URL link on the post you're doing, how do you create that effect where you hide it beneath a snappy little line of text?

        Just as an example, I could post a link to another site via a phrase in blue that said '...and here it is.'

        But how do you do that?

          {url=www.godhatesfags.com}like this{/url}

          Except that you use square brackets rather than curly ones.

            Isn't there automatic cuing of it like there was on the old forum?

              Only if you use the "Reply" function (and the buttons) instead of the "Quick Reply".

              I've actually found it quicker to use Quick Reply and type the codes.

                Not really. All that the button does is give you the url and url in brackets, so you still have to figure where and how to type in the stuff like ian's "and here it is."
