I've been stuck in this god-forsaken town for about 12 hours now, thanks to the alternator on my car deciding to give up whilst on the A1. Fortunately I was able to find a very nice pub which does B&B for the night, but I am stuck in this dump until the part for my car arrives sometime this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

I've walked round the town, admired the church, walked over the bridge and found that the races aren't on today (but were on 48 hours ago, which is nice).

Anybody got any ideas what to do for the next 24 hours?
