It's no surprise that police aren't adverse to a bit of low-level harassment of journalists, but actually filming them, following them and filing the details? Jesus.
There's a couple of related and equally disgusting police stories that could be mentioned here - most of the 'injuries' sustained in policing the Climate Camp were essentially made up, and many of the items confiscated were compeletely harmless.
The parallels with the Miner's Strike are almost irresistible, and incredibly depressing. I guess it's an open secret that the police are out of control, but I imagine it's useful for the Government to have it that way.
