Atari frenzy!

This is incredibly frustrating, because I can't get it to work. Clicking inside the game just seems make my character go right; using the arrow keys just scrolls the page around as usual. The applet doesn't seem to be working properly, or at least it doesn't seem to be working properly with my keyboard. Any advice?
