a friend of mine who is willing to stoop so low as to read the sun, has just forwarded me a scan of this story from today's edition, featuring what i can only describe as one of the most bizarre photo-ops i've ever seen: frank bruno and peter sutcliffe shaking hands, whilst jimmy saville looks on.

i don't have anything witty or insightful to say about it, just that the bizareness of it has blown my mind somewhat.

Saville, faced with meeting between large heavyweight boxer and sadistic serial killer, is clearly thinking, nice tracksuit.

It actually gets weirder the more I look at it. For one thing, Saville sporting a Capital Radio sweat shirt as the garment of choice for visiting Broadmoor... and then this: "After chatting to Ronnie, Big Frank spotted the Yorkshire Ripper leaning back on a window ledge."

Have The Sun deliberately retouched that pic of Sutcliffe. The weird David Gest like skin/eyebrows. The brillo pad hair. Either way...very, very odd.
