I think it started in a particularly fraught thread, in which there was a lot of heated argument and bad blood between the protagonists (I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say that I think Toro was involved). With perfect comic timing, EIM stepped in and said "What this thread needs is some sort of consensus", and it went on from there.
