U.S. college to divest from Israeli Occupation
Interesting indeed.
Hampshire is about as "radical" as one gets in the universe of US higher education, but it is worth noting that they were also the first to take similar action with regard to apartheid, and that the widespread divestment movement that sprung from their action had a real effect on US public opinion.
It goes without saying that efforts to replicate this elswhere are certain to encounter much more active opposition than the anti-apartheid protests did.
