Dunc, is this Gatow airfield that you're talking about? I didn't know that story. It's a housing estate now. When we bought our house (one of the old army houses backing onto the barracks in Kladow), we had a slight hold-up because a couple of square metres at the bottom of the garden were still entered in the land registry as belonging to the Reichsluftwaffe. The Hermann Goering Memorial Compost Heap stands there now.
