So now is the time to start the proper knock-out. Corresponding to the dictatoric mood I am in, I have decided which fruits will appear in the first round.

The first-round draw is as follows:

With the exception of lemon v plum (with lemon winning out on versatility, much as I love a nice juicy Victoria) that was a ridiculously straightforward first round. Fresh figs are where it's at right now, I can't eat enough of them. I usually get through a four-fig punnet in one go.

I had a Cantalupe melon segment the other day and it tasted like wood glue.
