I'm all for conceptual art, but I do think a Jesus picture should be a little more representational than that.

I do like the neatly subversive juxtaposition of the Village Voice logo with contemporary christianist homophobia, though. There's perhaps a beatitudinal implication - even as His soi-disant followers belittle the gay community, the image seems to remind us that "what you do to the least of my people, you do unto me." There's a jarring, almost transgressive aspect to the textual allusion, which serves to render contemporary hypocrisy in...
