According to this box of chocolate truffles the missus was given as a gift by a patient, "Some truffles some say Truefells." (personally I say "Biscuit Boost, s'il vous plait" but that's by the by)

I'm not sure what the fuck that means, actually. But they taste OK. They're champagne flavour, which means they're probably the third best drink flavoured confectionery item, after the cola bottle and the cola cube. Though I forgot the milk bottle, which is pretty spiffing.

Anyway. My point is this. Chocolate is fucking overrated.

Commercial chocolate as most people know it is not chocolate. It's a lot of sugar, milk and corn syrup and other muck.

Me I love dark chocolate, 70% cacao. It's an acquired taste to be sure because it's not as sweet as commercial milk chocolate.

I love good quality milk and plain chocolate, (I highly recommend Neuhaus in St. Pancras if you are in London) but I just don't understand the popularity of Hotel Chocolate. Yes they have good presentation but surely, once you've actually tasted some of their chocolate and realised how totally without balance it is you'd give it a rest.

I'm still slightly peeved that Sainsbury's have stopped making their Taste the difference Chili Chocolate. Wonderful it was, bitter, spicy, creamy (hence umami) and sweet.

Anyway fizzy cola bottles for me please, just so long they haven't been sitting in the bag with my wife's horrible Salt Sild.

Oh, and does anyone know where you can get Seabrook's crisps in poor uncivilised London?
