The global economic downturn comes to Chorley Fair

The rides last year at Chorley Fair were £1 each; this year they've gone up to £1.50! A whopping 50% inflation rate. I'd like to see the pikey bastards justify that. Naturally I jotted down all of their registration plates, noted roughly how many kids were going on each ride each time, and have sent this information to HMRC.

Is 'pikey' a bad word? I'd always thought it just implied "robbing", "cheating". Often used in conjunction with words like "roofer" and "builder", and now "people running fairground rides at Chorley Fair".

Well, yeah, it does mean 'people running fairground rides at Chorley Fair', in all probability, doesn't it?

To be fair I don't think it's just Chorley.
