Alas, I'm broke, it's raining, I have a headache, and so I'm having a very quiet day.

Rogin, Pan Tau was the eponymous character of a Czech-German children's series in the '60s and '70s. I liked it very mucgh as a child (indeed, Czech kids' TV was quite brilliant, even beyond the cartoons). Pan Tau was a very nice man who never spoke and, by a handmotion involving his hat, could do magic, usually to make children happy (fix things for a nice Christmas; organise a winter wonderland when the snow is melting). He was almost never sen by the parents of these kids, and if necessary could make himself tiny.
