    116 quid

It's a long and damning charge list:

Launching an illegal war costing hundreds of thousands of lives.

Leaving the country more rather than less unequal.

The destruction of the Labour Party as a progressive political force.

Earning millions in consultancies and directorships from his rich corporate mates.

    I could go on.

Why then have I been in an incandescent rage over the news that this cunt claimed his TV license on his parliamentary allowance?

I honestly don't know. I think it's 98% bollocks, this "MPs' expenses shock scandal" thing.

I'm well aware that the sums involved aren't enormous in the whole scheme of things but I think it's a pretty good indication of the contempt in which we're held by the people who are meant to be representing us. No-one can think it's a sensible use of public money to spend 20 grand a year on paying off Cameron's mortgage.

As far as Blair's TV license is concerned, I think it's the 'Only little people pay taxes' attitude that really gets me. And of course this is the week when the lowest paid will start to be penalised by the abolition of the 10% income tax band.
