I'm interested in the Black Hebrew Israelites. Wonder how they'd get on with the White Israelite movement.

EDIT: Not very well based on that Post article

I have heard this numerous times too.Either Mossad was involved in the attacks or they knew about it beforehand and didn't intervene but warned Jewish workers not to come in.
The demolition experts posing as workmen who planted the explosives to being down the two towers and the building next to it were Mossad operatives apparently.

I hadn't heard that that bit of the story is falling apart, and very much appreciate the information. It is absolutely unsurprising though, and I do tend to think that there are significant mental health issues at the core of both cases.
Yes, the Faction with the loud outfits like the ones in the Post article were quite common outside Seven Sisters and Brixton tube stations pre-gentrification. Like the NOI and 5%ers and Moorish/Kemetian groups their ideology and appeal had spread through 1980's Hip-Hop. My take, this is why Hip-Hop was taken over and the theme moved to Guns/Drugs/Bitches and Ho's (but that's for another thread).
Their numbers are relatively small (much smaller than they were 100 years ago) but their reach and influence is far and deep within the black American community and alot of their ideology did inform the likes of Noble Drew Ali and The Honourable Elijah Muhammed and is why many black Americans were more receptive to Marcus Garvey than they were in his native Jamaica.

Initially the Story was spun as Anti-Semitic attacks by the black Hebrew Israelites until someone pointed out it cannot be Anti-Semetic if both sides claim to be the Hebrews of the bible (and nobody with any sense wants to wade into that argument and take sides). Additionally, the claims these people are members is clearly false and any links to them are tenuous at best. The next myth was that this was a case of black people going into a Jewish area with the sole intention to attach Jews..... Until someone pointed out the Deli is on Martin Luther King bvd and these people were on the run from killing a policeman in a cemetery nearby.
Add to that, the events seem to be not to dissimilar to the Queen and Slim film out at the time and there was some Anti-Semetic legislation ready to be signed at the same time...........

I'm interested in the Black Hebrew Israelites. Wonder how they'd get on with the White Israelite movement.
Some factions well, Some not so well and some are pretty hostile.

I should point out that this hostility goes both ways with either side not innocent in this feud. But again, it rarely goes beyond finger pointing and verbal insults with the occasional shoving match in the street corners.

The man accused of stabbing multiple people celebrating Hanukkah at a rabbi’s home in New York has “a long history of mental illness and hospitalizations,” according to a family statement issued by his lawyer.

“He has no known history of anti-Semitism and was raised in a home which embraced and respected all religions and races. He is not a member of any hate groups,”
I likely know his lawyer. I know two lawyers with the same name, both of whom I respect. One is a former colleague and friend, the other (more likely) is a long time civil rights lawyer who was the Greens' nominee for State Attorney General recently.

Black diaspora religious movements are a fascinating and criminally understudied subject of rigorous historical inquiry.

More work here has been done on slaves' religious beliefs than on 20th and 21st century movements.

The community in Ramapo has been divisive for some time with alleged school budget issues by block voting tactics, closed meetings etc (my friends brother was leading a campaign that drove the NCAAP lawsuit).

It is something I have read alot about. Feel free to raise it on the White Supremacy thread as i don't wish to (once again) hijack this one. It would open some eyes as to why some of these black organisations seem to have alot of traction within the black community. This is stuff I have touched on in the past but assumed there wasn't much interest on OTF.

I meant British Israelite movement which is beyond fringe these days. Barely a tassel.

I'm also interested in Black religious movements. (And generally in fringe religious movements)

I dropped this on Twitter, not because I want to blame Poles for what happened in Belsize Park, but because people are so keen to blame Labour, whilst ignoring the fact that this happened last year, and there were far-right protests against the "Jewification" of Golders Green a few years back.

                      https://jewishnews.timesofisrael.com...-nationalists/

I'm trying to avoid Twitter but just saw Michael Rosen called a piece of "excrement" by a Jewish person, and told to keep away from the vigil, as he'd enabled this sort of thing.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but it's very good.

Absolutely horrible people who cravenly appeal to the basest aspects of White Rural Polish Catholic culture (with which I am unfortunately familiar)

The Labour Party seems to have employed a mixture of racists and bullies.

Cheers, Nef. As I've said elsewhere, I don't want to see KS's leadership dogged or caught up to much in this, but there's a lot that should not go uninvestigated or unpunished. Bullying, false allegations, all of it.

Labour could have won that election.

The most upsetting thing of all is the right- who were in charge of the party- did nothin about anti semitism They wanted it to continue. It was. a useful way of attacking Jeremy Corbyn and there fore the more there was- and the less that was done about it- the better.
