This is in no way to undermine Satchmo's serious thread, but it did remind me that last night I had a dream that I was playing support/second drummer to Phil Collins on his latest tour. I've had a few along these lines, but - as always happens, whether I'm playing drums for Oasis (!), my own band, or the full Genesis line-up (!!) - the kit (or, as was the case last night, the heavy curtains I was banging on - always falls apart. I never quite get going.
(This is only 'rational' in the sense that I'd love to have played drums for Genesis. However, I fucking hate Oasis.)
