Fucking Bavarians

Regional comparisons often seem to be very imperfect, but Bavarians as the Texans of Germany seems bang-on in so many ways.

I’ve heard this too. Munich seems to be a more cosmopolitan place than Dallas or Houston, but I may be wrong about that and conflating the presence of reasonable public transportation with enlightenment. And I’ve never actually been to Houston.

My Schwabian relatives in Baden-Wurtenberg say that foreigners sometimes mix them up with Bavarians and they are always quick to correct them.

Cardinal Marx is playing a blinder against the CSU. He has told them that the C in their name has to stand or something, or they should drop it. That is pretty powerful stuff from somebody who is the archbishop of Bavaria's capital, and the head of the German bishops' conference. No hand-wringing trying to be fair to "both sides" from Marx.
