The Centrist Mates are clear that they can never vote for Corbyn or Labour (as it is right now). Their entire reasoning appears to be reach a point when Corbyn is forced to quit and we can get back to a world of Sensible Labour. You can see the way that might work. The fact that by so doing they are sacrificing the country on the altar of their uncompromising views seems to be really really hard for them to grasp and accept. Especially since they've spent so long bemoaning the existence of people with uncompromising views who will not be flexible or make any kind of compromise. So we'll have (at least) 5 years of a hard right Tory government, pushing through a hard Brexit, selling off the NHS, throwing people out onto the streets, killing poor people, enabling racists, and worse, but at least we'll get a centrist Labour party back. Party before country. Fucking sick making. (you can't tell them this of course, because stalinism)

Despite the endless allegations which have gone nowhere regarding Corbyn being a raging jew-hater, I see that continuing to support labour now makes you an anti-semite.
Did anybody see Wingco's post regarding Emma Barnett who was acting as glorified cheerleader for billionaires on radio 4?
The entire post was regarding the existence of billionaires being symptomatic of our economic system spiralling beyond anything sustainable in the long-term.
suzanne moore, (her lack of capitalisation, not mine) guardian middleweight was making some snide af comments about his criticism stemming from her being jewish!
I had to step in and reference a prominent jewish labour - and Corbyn - supporter, Michael Rosen as a counter to the allegation of support labour = thundering anti-semite to which she basically said she disagreed with his stance on it.
And as Rosen himself says, he is often thought of as being the 'wrong kind of jew', which is straught-up fucking patronising.
      She then deleted her comments.
      Ha!
Some other genius was also equating Corbyn having amassed £3 mil over his career to Jacob Rees-Mogg being worth £100 mil+, because Corbyn is a so-called socialist.

Corbyn being worth £3m is surely proof that even socialists can make money?

I was just baffled by the leap they made from the discussion about billionaires, accrual of wealth via tax avoidance and schemes to hoard said wealth and how maybe, just maybe that needs regulating, and how that has even come to pass, all in order to have a fucking dig at Corbyn, that well known billionaire...
And in that exchange, I could see how people end up with stupidly excessive amounts of wealth.
We're too busy fighting each other.
Still, I had a dig at moore and it was a good one. Where's my fucking job at the graun???

Corbyn being “worth 3million “ means only that he owns a shoebox in Islington and he has a decent pension.

would love to read more of wingco’s Facebook. It seems like one of the best debating places in town.

other people’s centrist mates are having a good old laugh about prince Andrew

It really isn't. It's a good place to get a full picture of centrist prejudice. But there is very little debating. More shouting. (not from wingco - his style is to drop provocative little bombs and then retire chuckling (well I am assuming the chuckling))

Yes it's awful, and the more prominent the journalist the more fuck-witted their comments. SSS, formerly of this parish, is always worth reading though, as is SR

Just block the centrist wankers on there, and it's well worth reading.

I find it helps me get to know 'the enemy', as they hit the same old notes and beats.

Re my Facebook stuff. I throw bombs occasionally but try to confine myself to topics no reasonable person could object to, unless you are the sort of person who roots for the Sheriff of Nottingham when you watch Robin Hood. I've also taken to blocking certain, tireless trolls. Still, people worm round it. And some of my centrist "mates", btw, are no longer my mates. I am still mystified by the virulent, gleeful energy people direct against Corbyn, while still proclaiming themselves true to some sort of socialism. It's like an energy that dare not speak its true name. How much influence they have, I am uncertain about. My feeling is that Labour needs to energise people who wouldn't normally bother to vote, rather than try to win over the centrists. Frighteningly, the polls suggest that a significant number of people, despite all, would positively vote for Boris Johnson, not merely because Corbyn is Labour leader and not Owen Smith.

Also, I don't return to these threads because I simply don't have the time. I marvel at some of those who apparently do.

I've got Gavin Martin trying his twisty-turny wordy obfuscation shit on me at the moment, on Siobhan Fahey's page. She's solid Labour, and my mate. Have walked away as he's got zero support on there.

"Free stuff" - things that helped me survive as a kid, without which I'd now have no teeth, for example.Free broadband is a necessity if you don't want a society divided by class between those who have a fast connection that those that do not. It's no different in principle than having public libraries.

This is an extremely shrewd comment. You can see a similar phenomenon in the coverage of top level football as well. There's a lot of 90's nostalgia, and it's kind of horrifying how reactionary and conservative a lot of these recently retired footballers are.

The signs were always there with roy keane and we always knew he was unusually competitive, but he is without doubt the foremost exponent of turbo gammonism in the uk, and it makes me sad.
