    Reusable coffee cups

Whiling away the hours waiting for a delivery this morning, i thought I'd get around to buying myself a couple of those eco-friendly reusable coffee cups- one to leave at work, one for the metro commute.

Surprised to find that the novelty souvenir market hasn't caught up with these as a possible product- almost all those available that aren't just one colour are 'tasteful' (Wm. Morris; Orla Kiely-ish etc)

Given that I could buy pretty much anything else with a Dundee utd/Napoli/Gladbach logo slapped on it (I already have mugs, slippers, fridge magnets, air fresheners etc etc) there don't seem to be any football ones out there.

There ARE cycling ones, but of a painfully hipsterish kind- one on ebay even has the little stick cyclists sporting hipster beards.

More surprising still, leftie sites offer mugs, tea towels, tote bags etc but none of these- I'd actually prefer a palestine or socialist one for work.

So if anyone has come across any that might interest the likes of me do share.
Or if you have long been proudly carrying one that you like and wish to denounce me as a johnnycomelately polluter, do that too.

geekcore.co.uk has Star Wars ones. Not for me, thanks. Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, Blade Runner, Logan's Run, Hulk, Daredevil- THEN we'd be talking...

You know what's a reusable coffee cup? A mug.

Yes, but fragility in the work bag is one issue and too-small-for-the-coffee-machine drink sizes is the other. At least once a week I have a 9.00 class and always have breakfast on the way- mug wouldn't work in that scenario.

I have a Dundee Utd and a UCU mug at work, but making my own has never really worked out (not least cos the fridge is in a public area and the milk seldom lasts the day)

Well those certainly break the 'tasteful' trend...

Can't you fuckers do without coffee for long enough to get to work?
The train in the morning fucking reeks of the revolting stuff.
it's almost as bad as people who drink Red Bull in public. Do your drug taking in the privacy of your own home\office where I don't have to gag on the fumes.

I'm with hobbes on this one, particularly with regard to the point about Red Bull. Somebody had spilt a can of it on the tube the other day. It smelled like the time Mark Hawker spewed his ring up in a French lesson in the fourth year after eating two packets of strawberry-flavoured Chewitts.

At the golf hut, we've introduced a 50 cent surcharge for takeaway hot drinks. I was fed up of people wanting drinks in a paper cup with a plastic lid and then drinking them at the tables. If it were up to me alone, I'd abolish the fucking things outright.

I have a lovely one which I take down to Pret a couple of times a week.

It's from my Transalpine NZ train journey.

I've still not had Red Bull, despite once working at a place where they had a full-stocked Red Bull fridge in the kitchen.

I've never tried Red Bull either. It just doesn't seem interesting.

Actually, a woman was close to being lynched on my morning train the other week, it was so packed some people couldn't get on (nearly me, until a woman pulled me in) and the trains are every 15 minutes. She wouldn't move down and was ignoring requests to do so, as she had a coffee in one hand which needed to be held carefully.

No jury in the land . . .

The only time I've ever had a Red Bull was when it was ordered for me in a trendy nightclub in Milan and did nothing to change my view that trendy Milanese night clubs are no longer for me (if they ever were).

I hesitate to think what that might've cost...

The one time I drank red bull, my body reacted to it very badly. I spent the next couple of hours pissing like a racehorse every 5 or so minutes until I'd dumped all the liquid out of my body and I was basically just dust.

What's a reusable coffee cup? i have a feeling it's not like travel mug if you mention fragility, FIGS. I've seen ones that look like actual paper coffee cups, but they are ceramic, with a silicone lid. I use a Contigo travel mug, like this one:

Also, why keep one at the office if you are also going to have one on your commute? Isn't that redundant?

I experimented with Red Bull in the 90s when I was working nights, before I'd ever had any panic attacks or anything. It made me grind my teeth.
