Except they're never going to win any of them...

Probably not if the election is in the next few months. Who knows what will happen if it is in 2021.

        Good set of by-election results.

Unfortunately, national polls are less good. Tories back up by a point with ICM. All extremely close.

The Tories have, reversing the trend of recent years, a better concentrated vote than Labour, so can win more seats with a lower vote.

You all know what I think Labour are doing wrong.

Not that it's vastly better in Ireland, with only them, PBP & SF offering even anything vaguely 'progressive'.
You obviously forget the FF/Green coalition if you think Eamon Ryan and the Tories with wellies are any way progressive

How's it looking for the LibDems?

Nobody's interested in what they say about anything, so that's not really a guide.

But they would be, if the issue you think's a vote-sealer exerted such a strong pull

They might win Cheltenham back, but that's about it. They're fucked. They could lose a couple of Scottish seats next time and all.

I’d really like Jo Swinson to lose. Shes better than that arse John Nicholson, but fucking Pete Wishart is better than him. She’s now calling for a statue of Thatcher in Scotland cos she did so much in the fight against inequality, “whatever you think of her politics”. Most of her cabinets had no other women, she did fuck all to decrease gender discrimination, or for women in poverty, don’t really get any empowerment argument if it’s that women can get to the top if they are as sociopathic and downright evil as men.

Unfortunately I’d say she’ll keep her seat, and they’ll probably take NE Fife from Gethins while they are at it. The shitey bastards.

                          Tongue-in-cheek, sir.

Just shows what they're capable of morphing into.
Just another version of the LDs currently.
Talking of which, Tubby's right, though their 'surge' might just seep as far as Richmond Park.

That said, would happily vote tactically for them in the other 4 seats where second to the Tories.
                          If they could beat them...

Tories ahead in last 2 polls, by 4 points and 2 points.

Britain Elects forecast suggests Labour wins more votes and fewer seats.

Picks up a couple of seats in Cornwall, interestingly. And picks off IDS, so not all bad.

Actually, I'm assuming Labour get more votes, going on the latest voteshare in another part of the site. That might not be right.

For what it's worth, Plaid Cymru spent only £105k.
