Hispanics have been categorised as white people for a while in the US and about Half of them identify as white to.
This correlates to the percentage of Hispanics who vote for White supremeist when election day rolls around.

Ireland joined the EU in the mid 70's so only a decade after the act was passed. This decade is possibly the worst time a white European person (especially male)would contemplate moving to the the states, when you would most likely be moving into the inner cities that were full of racial tension and in the midst of de-industrialisation. Ireland wasn't that bad to want to leave for all that.Comment

TG it wasn't really more restrictive. It messed around with quotas, and was less explicitly about only letting in white people. It also allowed migration of family members which is what starts to tip it more in favour of migration across the southern border, and the numbers went up. Things were starting to slow down in the Rust Belt, but the Shift to the Sun Belt was starting to gradually happen.
I think that a big example of the thing that is really putting the shits up all the white supremacists, is that this is the last majority white class of High School seniors.
