they are so oppressed aren’t they? Baddiel able to have a post. Cambridge comedy career without ever having to apologise for his blackface racism
Baddiel is a class A wanker. However, he has apologised in public for his blackface a few times, though never directly to Jason Lee. (Although I think it is the case that not apologising would not have affected his career in any way.)

If he hasn't apologised to Jason Lee then he hasn't apologised for blackface.

An interesting meta debate - is it anti-Semitic in and of itself to believe that only Jews themselves can define what constitutes anti-Semitism?

As some of those Jews spend a great deal of time attacking Jews they disagree with and if they aren’t fervent enough supporters of the Israeli state calling them “asajews “ “ Kapos” “self-hating” “apologists for antisemitism” and straight out antisemites then I’d be against letting Stephen Pollard Rachel Riley or Melanie Phillips decide what antisemitism consists of.

I tend to quote Jewish people I agree with on any subject related to a/s, as it saves me time defending myself and generally cuts down on posts accusing me of "telling Jews what is and isn't antisemitism".

Riley calls critical race theory proponents „genocidal“

looks like trivialising the Holocaust to me

Also calling his daughter as dressed like an East European prostitute, she was apparently 3 and dressed all in pink.

Not sure if this is exactly the right thread, but anyway

Important stuff from Brian Eno. Germany's law against non-violent opposition to the occupation is wrong (and other countries are slowly going down the same road)

I often quote my own experience, as a Molotov through next door's window is starkly anti-Semitic (it was my Dad's office, the Brit Consulate to Palestine). My Jewish neighbors now (like MPs Ian Austin or Nicola Richards) thankfully tend not to share that experience...

Cohen has got some neck, given that he's writing for The Spectator there.

Al Fatah at the British Consulate to Palestine (not Israel, which was then and remains in Tel Aviv). But for all that possible irony, it was recognised at the time as an attack on Israel by proxy through its allies (including the 6 year old me). So without stretching any point too far, A-S

That must have been scary but it doesn't make it antisemitic.

as I said, I was stretching the point. Only as far as distinguishing between political opposition and throwing molotovs at civilians.

I mention the incident not to pull rank or relive trauma from 50 years ago, but to answer MsD . Put simply, informed opinions on this issue are welcome and essential. You don't have to be Jewish or have Shimon Hassidik as a neighbor

Relatively trivial, but did you all see the shitstorm around Eddie Marsan? He’s since locked down his account and is probably blaming nasty Corbynites for bullying him antisemitically, despite his not being Jewish, and his seeming to have no problem working with Mel Gibson and on films full of Jewish stereotypes.

He basically inferred that Jeremy Corbyn believes that Jews drink blood. And that his supporters are all cool with this, because we’re both racist and classist.
