How comes, right, sometimes my downloads are super fast like Usain Bolt, but other times, they're super slow, like Usain Bolt, but when he's moving much slower?

think it depends on how well seeded it is, their upload speeds and whatnot. Low number of seeds & slow upload speeds ----> Mike Gatting.

Depends on everyone's speed really. Like, the folk hosting the little bits of the torrent that I download and my computer puts together to make that shiny new porno dvd for me, if their internet and the like sucks, then things will slow down.

Oh, and if everyone on your internet provider is doing it too, it takes up a lot of resources again. College students are especially bad at this, they'll go out on Friday night leaving their PC on to download a torrent, slowing everyone down in the process.

Has to do with how many people are "seeding" the file, doesn't it? The more seeds, the faster the download.

Of course, I've never really understood how someone seeds something.

EIM - your ISP my have traffic sculpting and management. They pick up on bandwidth use through torrents, and cut the speed on your line big time. Very annoying, but that is what they do.

Because we had been up to 6 in the morning on Saturday night doing all sorts, I spent Sunday afternoon asleep on the sofa, then had a take-away, downloaded and watched the England match, slagged them off and went to bed. I'm hitting good form again tonight, though.
