Is that because he wasn't directly involved, and that those that were are the murderers, or is it because he doesn't consider the deaths to have been murder?

My Dad worked in one of the hospitals they brought the victims to.

He's rarely talked about it, which is uncharacteristic for him because he talks about everything. The one time I remember him talking about it he was clearly still upset by it, 20 or so years on.
