He's looking for a fight and taking on the fire service after this is just stupidity. Perhaps it may help to bring this privileged twat down.

May is really looking more and more incompetent and with the Brexit negotiations due to start on Monday she must be very close to being removed by her own party unless they use her as the object of hate and derision to further their own agenda.

Council to clarify rehousing statement
Kensington and Chelsea council is rowing back on its statement that it may not be able to house all the surviving victims of the Grenfell Tower fire in the local area.
A spokesman said its statement sent out at 1.46pm was “wrong”.
It said:
While we will try do our utmost to ensure those affected remain in or near the borough, given the number of households involved, it is possible the council will have to explore housing options that may become available in other parts of the capital.
The housing minister Alok Sharma told MPs on Thursday that the government guaranteed “that every single family” from the Tower would be rehoused in the local area.

I don't see "fast" in my quote above. However speed is always part of the equation. What never changes is the production "triangle." It doesn't matter whether you're building flats, shopping centres, or magazines. There's Speed, Cost, and Quality and a project manager should always expect, and be able to deliver, two out of three. Which two he/she chooses however is crucial. Unfortunately only the first two are objectively measurable, the third frequently requires experience to evaluate. Which refers back to the point in my previous post. If the person with oversight responsibility lacks the requisite knowledge and experience then they tend to fall back on the first two, because they're easier to justify. So all too frequently, fast & cheap win the day.

How much of this is now down to the cuts and sub contracting out everything that you are only left with accountants to run things?
Corbyn is going to benefit from this because he has genuinely been against this neo liberalism for years, the similarities to other events where disaster capitalists circled like vultures is becoming a little too familiar.

They're trying to storm the council offices.
I have to say, I have been more upset over this than the recent terrorist attacks in London and Manchester. Not because I'm callous or anything, but we can't really stop terrorist attacks. Grenfell should never have been allowed to happen.

This guy speaking is excellent, he is a resident of the tower block, much of what he says is in the media but a few things I've heard for the first time.
Firstly the fire engines could not access the tower along the roads because they were too narrow or had boulards on them.
Secondly we've all seen that a small section of the building has survived seemingly less badly damaged, they were the council offices.

When I first saw that corner Tubby I just thought like you, now I'm thinking that those offices had something that others in the block didn't have.
Another addition to the building were gas pipes, where we they located? In the only stair well.
How the fuck did this get signed off by buildings regulators if this is true?

Cos regulations are pisswater, cos there's a lack of funds or will for proper oversight. Like the PFI schools in Scotland, I'd imagine this is bigger than just London or social housing. The gimcrack bullshit in Salford Quays etc could do with a thorough inspection as well.Last edited by Lang Spoon; 16-06-2017, 16:56.

King’s College hospital is to lodge a complaint with the press watchdog over a journalist who allegedly impersonated a friend of a victim of the Grenfell Tower fire in order to get an interview with him.
The hospital is to file a complaint with the Independent Press Standards Organisation (Ipso) about the behaviour of the Sun reporter. It has also written to News UK, the publisher of the Sun, Times and Sunday Times, about the incident.

Same here, it’s absolutely dreadful and I can hardly bear reading about it without feeling terribly angry, it reminds me of the terrible Cinq-Sept disco disaster near Grenoble in 1970 (142 dead and 50 injured) and the Alcala 20 disco tragedy in Madrid (84 deaths) when I used to go to Madrid to party during the post Franco Movida Madrileña movement era (I was studying Spanish at the time – I’m of Spanish extraction – as well as English).
