Rights groups welcome court decision to block Kenya refugee camp closure
I have a colleague whose sister has been in Daadab for the past nine years, waiting to join her husband in the States. The past year has been very difficult for them, what with the Kenyan government declaring their intention to close down the camp; UNHCR doing the square root of fuck all to stop it and the US recently calling a halt to the refugee resettlement program. This judgement is very welcome news, even though I don't think it's an end to the heartache. Kenyatta is a prize arsehole who won't let this lie.
