You would think that Spain would be high on the list of such bilateral agreements to be concluded due to the large British immigrant community over there but there is also Gibraltar to contend with...

Not all about Brexit of course, but can't have helped. Take that, Metropolitan South Wales elite.
Chris Elmore, MP for Ogmore next door, has just announced support for a People's Vote.

What would be the point of Juncker saying the backstop would be "temporary" when that word, without further clarification, could mean any length of time you want it to mean? A decade or even a century is still "temporary" because it ends but that's no use to the gammons, who would want it to mean something unfeasibly short like three months. It's just semantic bollocks that won't sway enough votes to be meaningful but it means Juncker can pretend to be offering a concession which really is not there.

He's got another killer point too. Can you spot the flaw in this one too?

I have to say, I'm on board for 4% interest rates. Not overnight or anything, but as an equilibrium.Last edited by Ginger Yellow; 11-01-2019, 21:36.

While Loyal Laura goes with a piece speculating on May's chance of winning the vote, and boldly stating that losing by 50 would mean she could emerge unscathed (it's ok, it's not like it's the most important government policy in most of our lifetimes or anything), the rest of the media are going with the chaos that will unfold after the inevitable heavy defeat.
There is much being made of backbenchers seizing control of the agenda from the government, and one right wing paper in particular is frothing at the mouth about this. Last week's vote on bringing a Plan B within three days should have been a moment of awakening for May, it should have been the point at which she realised she leads a minority government (and one which in itself is a coalition, not the so-called broad church) and you can't control the agenda in the same way that a government with a three figure majority is able to (even if the system is set up that way - it's only set up that way because it expects big majority governments). But she's not self-aware enough for that, even now, and she still thinks she's Thatcher.
