Ginger Yellow Mandy McAuley is a BBC journalist, often fronting the NI investigative show Spotlight. Of course I realise she probably has less influence on overall editorial line than the Daily Diana or Jewish Comical

Daughter of a good friend works fairly high up in Stormont. One of the phrases that has been passed around is "You think these people are incompetent arrogant reality-denying cunts in public? Wait until you get on a Zoom call with them."

As in Dover, Holyhead/Caergybi has seen much stockpiling in advance of New Year's:

                Holy crap.

I can only presume from their logic that the British PM having covid much earlier indicates that the British (English) government has even more astounding arrogance. I think that's what the Telegraph is sayng, right? That all their accusations against the French are multiplied when applied to the English?

To be fair to the Tories and their ilk, I've really started to admire the internationalism and universalism of their outlook.

The sooner everyone realises that it's the rest of us that need to understand that we are the ones with the problem.because we're looking at issues in the wrong way the better, what what.

The law of unintended consequences bites lorry drivers in the proverbial (if not in their cheese and ham sandwiches). It's all these little details which no-one (myself included) ever thought about when this (Brexit) was done to us - and I say one to us deliberately. I had absolutely no part in it happening.

That's not even the most ridiculous Torygraph headline this week:

Ireland to join the Schengen police database just as the UK loses access to it.

Gibraltar looks set to become part of Schengen. UK citizens will undergo full passport controls (performed by the EU under Frontex) if they arrive by air, but the land border will be open

I think that you will find that the 2020 British Truck Racing Grand Prix series is off to a fabulous start. Look at the size of that starting grid!

Maybe we can stretch to a pedalo with a crack two man team armed with spud guns?

My favourite: 'French PM was Trotskyist with Afro hair' (the guy who looked a bit like Randy Newman. Jospin?)

Don’t bother resisting. It’s just as funny if they don’t notice.

I've just seen this on Twitter and was going to share but you beat me to it.

How many HGVs are we talking about here? it's clearly hundreds. Is this going to be the new norm or will things get worse?

I think the Government's reasonable worst case Brexit planning scenario was that there'd be a need to handle 5-7000 queued lorries, and once all the elements of the Kent traffic management plan are in place there'll be capacity for 9000. This is quite a useful dry run tbh.

Not sure it counts as a dry run if it's a little over a week before the actual run, and many of the remaining days are holidays. This is just starting the actual run early.
