He has to allow a vote on the implementing legislation.

He may well reject the Tories' plan for another "meaningful vote" on Monday, though.

      That's the one I meant.

Looking another further than a day ahead seems a fruitless exercise at the moment.

Of course he's going to reject it. they're just trolling.

          Why would he reject it?

Because it essentially repeats a vote that the Government lost yesterday. UK practice frowns on repeat votes in a way that is unfamiliar to USians.

Because they failed to win on Saturday.

By now calling it a "meaningful vote" — Saturday's vote was amended by parliament as "not meaningful" — Johnson is trying to get a second bite at the apple.

Based on Bercow's previous rulings this is unlikely to fly.

Yes but they've realized Johnson's is worse

Today's papers blaming Labour for stopping Brexit.

And a thousand #FBPE-ers subsequently explode in confusion.

Wouldn't normally link a Murdoch rag, but the comments more insightful than the article?

For some reason (in Firefox desktop browser) I can open the link in Nef's last post there, but not any of the above ones that have [URL] around them - instead, that goes to a 'Invalid Page URL. If this is an error and the page should exist, please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message'

That is a quirk of copying and pasting the URL. Some browsers (mainly iOS) copy it in encoded HTML which means the forum parses it as a local link. It is a PITA that I can't figure out a decent way of fixing without breaking other browsers.

It always works if you click the time /date within the tweet.

(Ironically, the URL display line was added on afterwards due to user demand... Sheesh, can't do right for doing wrong... some people etc and so forth.)

Sounds like he's not going to allow it.

So what does this mean? Does this mean that Boris's deal has been felled?

And now the EU has to decide whether to offer an extension, even though there's no mechanism currently in place to change the UK's position?

I think it means that people will have the chance to read the bill and attach amendments to it before they're forced to vote on it
