Undermine the checks and balances, the Banks/Mercers/Koch's (I'm sure there's more where they came from) will be delighted.
As for Yellowhammer, no doubt it is being dismissed by your average Brexit ultra as Project Fear written by Remoaners.

Regulatory capture is completely ok with that lot as long as they are the captors.
I find it rather remarkable that the entire Government response to the disclosure mandate was to put out a copy of a document that was already in the public domain, while redacting one paragraph.

Do we believe YellowHammer in its entirety, parts of it or do we go full on and say it's probably underestimating the chaos?
As so much warehouse space is going to be taken up with Christmas products it feels like things might actually be worse. And it's going to be the poorest members of society that are going to be disproportionately hit harder.

Antepli Ejderha It reads to me like a rather straight down the middle "base case" scenario (its original title) that summarizes input from civil servants with some subject matter expertise.
As is the case with any such document, reality can prove to be better or worse, though the Government certainly doesn't seem to be doing much to address the issues raised. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the way he led the Leave campaign, Cummings appears to see this exclusively as a messaging battle and doesn't give a monkey's about substance.

If the Supreme Court rules against the government and Parliament is recalled, what then? Johnson will say negotiations are still ongoing so it's too early to have votes on new deals (or a return of May's deal). It's still too early for a VoNC because we want an A50 extension to be agreed by the EU and written into law before that happens.
But I think the symbolism is what matters here. The highest court rules, in effect, that the PM lied to the Queen. How can he and his media enablers spin out of that?

He's have to resign. Well, in the before time he would have. Now brazening it out is all good in Racist Island. Peston and Kuenssberg would be all admiring his sheer chutzpah.
Orban started as a cynical Liberalish type merely playing with anti Semitic and authoritarian tropes for votes and self enrichment and look how that turned out.

There appears to be about 8.3 billion reasons why he wants to crash out on the 31st.

Well as he wrote this in the Spectator:
”They would rather trigger (yet another) constitutional crisis (yawn).” And has given Johnson remarkably favourable coverage throughout I think sarcasm is the least likely explanation.
the great skill of the political commentator is never quite saying what you mean but cladding it on a knowing tone which suggests there’s more than meets the eye. See also Kuenssberg.
