I dunno Ginger Yellow, "as irresponsible as" someone who was struck off the rolls in the most notorious case of medical academic fraud in recent memory strikes me as pretty close to the line.

I rather doubt that your lawyers would let you print it.

NHS trusts in Kent have block-booked hotel rooms for staff who may not be able to get into work because the country’s roads are gridlocked if there is a no-deal Brexit.

Health service bosses have also discussed with the police using them to get patients through unusually heavy traffic to hospitals in Ashford and Canterbury, which are near the ports of Dover and Folkestone, the Health Service Journal reports today.
I wonder what Rees Mogg has to say about this.

Actually I don't as I can guess the kind of crap he'd say.

yeah, well... he brought it up. I mean if he had said something like "shot in the head and hung upside down from meathooks outside a petrol station in suburban milan." I'd have been stuck for a photograph.

I think he needs to repeat that outside the chamber so we can find out.

It's a pity he still thinks the BBC are legitimate.

ooooh, anyone impugning the public honesty of a doctor, without evidence, is going to get a legal brick through their face. As Gemma O'Doherty has just discovered. It's all fun and games calling people stooges of big pharma, until you do it to an english immunologist, and suddenly no-one is laughing. (Well not strictly true, we're all laughing up our sleeve)

I'm just not sure calling someone irresponsible is a statement of fact, no matter who you compare them to. It's a value judgement, surely.

That said, as Berbaslug implies, there may be a libel per se cause of action I'm not aware of.

David Nicholl is currently stood outside parliament with a comedy oversized megaphone daring Rees Mogg to come out and repeat it. It's all gone The Day Today. Actually it went there a long time ago didn't it.

Chatter about Amber Rudd being about to resign, something about fish or something, hard to keep up.

In scientific reputation, Wakefield is the worst of the worst. He is so toxic, that no self-respecting university would accept any amount of money to associate its name with his. Saying that someone is as irresponsible as Wakefield is downright slanderous to someone's reputation.

Whether something like that is court material, I have no idea. Morally, it is beyond the pale.
