So it's only a minority who want to Leave on No Deal.

How can one poll suggest that the brexit party are going to trail the tories by one percent in the opinion polls, and get one seventh as many seats, and then another poll give them a one point lead which translates into a quarter as many seats as the tories.

Essentially it is more or less impossible to model seats in a situation like this. At least it is from bog-standard national polls.

Professor John Curtice would know. Bar that it's lots of hot air and propaganda.

Labour seem to be still pushing the GE route but when are the other remain parties going to get their arses into gear and form an electoral pact?

Already too late, as they only had until the start of the month to agree that - a number of websites have developed suggesting tactical approaches by region, but have yet to finalise their recommendations.

What's the incentive for CHUK to play in that scenario? Where would they have the best chance, better than the Liberals?

Jesus, imagine the sort of cutthroat and barbarian that would get elected for the Brexit Party. Oh well, I suppose it will help people realize the sheer scale of the UK's problems, when they can no longer deny what the Tory Party have become, when they are replaced with straight up fascists.

                      Nothing to do with Brexit.

                      Move along please.

The fact that Japan has signed a trade deal with the EU to allow import of vehicles more relevant.

Which would explicitly exclude the UK post Brexit

We have now received some Farage thing - straight in the bin.

My wife also received a "personal" letter from Vince Cable.

                            "Dear -----,

It is now nine years since we enabled David Cameron to form a government. The rest as they say is history."

                            (it did not say)

I was musing earlier about where we'd be if the Referendum had been a narrow win for Remain.

Leavers wouldn't have given up but perhaps, like the Scottish nationalists, would have decided to take a bit of a breather and wait until they could re-establish some momentum.

Cameron goes on with Osborne at the Treasury. The economy grows respectably but austerity and spending restrictions still generate criticism.

Corbyn's leadership still has many internal Labour Party critics, the exact strength of his current position determined by local election performances and reactions to new Government initiatives.

The Liberals have yet to bounce back from the 2015 GE disaster and continue to languish in the polls.

Cameron has announced the date of his resignation and the Conservative leadership campaign is underway a year ahead of the next GE. Osborne is the overwhelming favourite to win.

Did anyone in Scotland get a similar one from the SNP saying it's 40 years since we inflicted Thatcher on you?

That's a really silly and utter bullshit Labour Party nonsense story, Guy.

Corbyn, Findlay & Leonard were bringing it up this spring as well. 40 fucking years ago and a bogus factoid anyways. Corbyn is worse than fucking useless on The Scottish Question, and the Lexit faction now in charge of Slab will ensure their oblivion just as surely as Blairite Kezia types.

More to do with political inequality than Brexit, though the latter was frequently touched upon, but Newsnight's guests to kick the issue around was a bit of a classic line-up: Peter Hitchens, Will Self, Bernard-Henri Lévy and Michelle Dewberry!

It was a cracker tonight. Maitlis was interviewing UKIP Deputy Leader Mike Hookem (the one who chinned a fellow UKIP MEP) and was pretty much laughing in his face when he tried to answer her questions. Then Stephen Smith got Nigel Farage to admit to "35 years of self-abuse".

Each of whom were profoundly annoying and nowhere near grasping the issues at hand.
