Having looked her up, I quickly see something about how the left hasn't realized Brexit can be harnessed for the good.

Good like factories in famously affluent Llanelli and Plymouth closing because of Brexit.

Have you taken the time to read that article?

I hadn't but I have now. I agree with most of it. But she seemed to be talking up the working class element in Corbyn team. And the person whose working class origins are best known, Angela Rayner, is generally well received. So I didn't get that point.

But I'm afraid the other thing (can't do links, on a phone) puts me off her a lot. I'd rather my MP were one of those run of the mill NE Labour MPs who get Brexit and stuck their necks out on it, despite Brexit constituencies.

Bloody hell it would be like Napoleon returning from Elba. In his mind if no-one else's.

No, but seems Hammond is doing likewise:

                      Enoch was UUP.

An even worse Tory MP, Andrew Hunter, actually defected to the DUP.

                        Well I just have

It's not good. Her instincts are good. Her grasp of the likely scale of the destruction caused by Brexit is bad.

And that isn't harnessing anything. That's changing policy which you could do anyway, except this time uphill.

It’s better than the RISE Indyleft wankers in Scotland that see Britain in the EU as a worse option (cos, neoliberalism) than Britain (even with no deal!) or Scotland outwith the EU for Social Justice, but it’s still depressingly insular in terms of ignoring how the fuck to pay for Socialism in One Country when not in the SM.

A Labour govt taking over a brexited Britain suddenly forced to scale back its (modest by European Social Democrat, even Christian Democrat norms) plans as the money drained out would probably be blamed for Betrayal and be out in one term.

Better to be in power than to let these cunts rule us a minute longer.

They’ll be in office but not in power till 2022 most likely.

Is Corbyn actually going to meet Sturgeon re Westminster next steps? I would almost bet there will be no coordination of opposition strategy.

An ambitious trade deal looks set to be completed ... by Jersey.

                                          Why?

Cos Labour have lost Scotland forever, and they might need Nat votes. Also, Sturgeons alternative to May’s Brexit might actually get EU27 approval.

It appears the EFTA/EEA route is being considered permanently, but of course, that still requires customs agreements for the Border.

At this point shouldn’t the opposition parties be trying a Popular Front against madness Tory or Flint/Field/hooey types? If no second ref then a proper soft Brexit attempt.

Great example of industry jargon last night on Channel 4 News (7-8 pm), May at the CBI conference with her big speech and her grand plans to stop those awfully-entitled EU migrants "from jumping the queue".

A C4 journalist interviewed a CEO exec about EU staff retention and he replied: "[…] some of our EU staff have sought some certainties for themselves." (it’s at 10’26 if you can find the programme).

In plain English: those EU staff have fucked off abroad.

the trouble is that the electoral system demands both a popular front and the readiness to work together and also rewards the quick knife in the back. when 5000 votes either way between SNP and Labour can change several seats in parliament.
